Following on from my last post about how I developed the ‘finger wave’ design headpiece and used as a base for my entry this year in the Millinery Association Millinery Competition. I wanted to share the images and detail about my competition piece, the theme for this year was ‘Spring Racing’ so I chose a lovely lilac parasisal straw and crinoline to create my headpiece using the finger wave design as my base and set a floating bow on top, softened with crinoline and finished with a scatter of handmade EVA foam flowers. I was not successful in making the finals this year but for my first time entering I was really happy with what I was able to produce and am excited about the design outcome of the finger wave headpiece.
